Summary of the book “On the Principles of Grammar” by Saeed Muhammad Ahmad Al-Afghani

Abstract

The researcher summarized a book from Saeed Al-Afghani’s books, entitled “On the Origins of Grammar,” which is a set of lectures written by Saeed Al-Afghani for students of the College of Arts - Department of Arabic Language - in the hands of the Grammar and Morphology Curriculum in the Arabic Language Science Certificate, and they are arranged in succession as follows: (the protest, analogy, derivation, and the disagreement between the Basrians and the Kufics). This book aims to enrich the historical view of language, grammar and morphology for the reader; As this view is no less important than knowing the rules of the language, exchanging them and towards them, it is necessary to know the path that the ancients took in formulating those rules. Recognizing their efforts helps in meeting the linguistic need of the age represented by keeping pace with scientific and civilizational developments that require linguistic development to find alternatives from the heritage. Or by following the methods of the early scholars for the huge amount of scientific, technical and civilized terms, in addition to facilitating grammar except for what can be excluded for the learner while preserving the grammar in its details, history, modern and old, to study with specialists in universities and institutes, so it became important that Know the means of the ancients and are viewed.
