Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of the University of Jordan in preparing future teachers, cognitively and creatively from students’ perceptions. To achieve the objective of this study, the researcher used the quantitative descriptive method. The study population consisted of all students of the art and educational sciences faculties at the University of Jordan in a random sample of (200) students. The results presented that the role of the University of Jordan in preparing future teachers, cognitively and creatively from students’ perceptions, was of a moderate degree. In addition, this study indicated that there are no statistically significant differences at the level (a≤0.05) in the estimates of students Postgraduate Studies Study sample about the role of the university in preparing future teachers cognitively and creatively which can be attribute to (gender, college, specialization, and academic year). Based on the aforementioned results, the study recommended the necessity of developing a comprehensive plan to increase interest in preparing future male and female teachers, cognitively and creatively at Jordanian universities and at the University of Jordan particularly.
